CLEVELAND (AP) _ Richard J. Hipple, an LTV Corp. executive vice president, has been appointed to the additional position of president of the LTV Steel Co. division.

As LTV Steel president, Hipple, 47, will direct the flat-rolled steel operations, raw materials and related joint ventures.

The appointment announced Monday completes a new corporate structure in which each major LTV unit is led by a president. In addition to flat-rolled steel, there are divisions for Copperweld tubular steel and steel building products.

Hipple, who was trained as a civil engineer, joined LTV Steel in 1975 and became a corporate executive vice president in 1998.
