STORRS, Conn. (AP) _ Anna De Forge scored a game-high 24 points to lead No. 21 Nebraska to an 84-70 win over 16th-ranked Western Kentucky Thursday in a Preseason NIT semifinal.

The Huskers will play the winner of the No. 6 Connecticut-Northwestern semifinal in the title game on Friday.

Danielle McCulley led Western Kentucky (2-1) with 22 points and Leslie Johnson had 17 before fouling out with 4:41 left.

Nebraska had a 17-point second quarter lead trimmed to three points late in the third quarter before the Huskers (3-0) slowly built the margin to 10 points with just two minutes left.

Nebraska coach Paul Sanderford left Western Kentucky in June, saying he felt he had a better chance of winning a national title at Nebraska. He coached the Hilltoppers for 15 seasons, leading the school to the Final Four three times.
