CLEVELAND (AP) _ Lauren Jackson scored 16 points, and Sue Bird had 11 points and 12 assists as the Seattle Storm beat the Cleveland Rockers 71-59 Friday night.

Jackson, the WNBA's leading scorer at 19.4 points a game, was held scoreless in the second half, but it didn't matter.

Bird picked up the slack for the Storm (7-5) with nine points after halftime, and the Rockers (5-6) never got untracked because of turnovers.

Cleveland made 11 of its 17 turnovers in the first half while falling behind 39-29.

Seattle never trailed while snapping Cleveland's four-game home winning streak.

Chasity Melvin had 15 points, Penny Taylor 11 and Betty Lennox 10 for the Rockers.

Seattle reserve Alisa Burras had 10 points against her former team.

The Rockers got as close as 26-20 on Betty Lennox's 14-foot jumper with 7:37 left in the first half. But the Storm countered with an 11-2 run to take control.
