Bond Prices Mostly Mixed

NEW YORK (AP) _ Treasury bond prices were mostly mixed at midday Thursday.
The price of the Treasury's 10-year note was down 9/32 point, or $3.125 per $1,000 in face value, around midday Thursday, while its yield fell to 5.14 percent from 5.11 percent late Wednesday. Prices and yields move in opposite directions.
The 30-year bonds were down 1/32 point and yielded 5.45 percent, unchanged from late Wednesday.
Yields on three-month Treasury bills rose to 5.79 percent as the discount rose 0.04 percentage point to 5.64 percent. Six-month yields rose to 5.72 percent as the discount rose 0.04 percentage point to 5.50 percent. One-year yields rose to 5.39 percent as the discount rose 0.03 point to 5.13 percent.
Yields are the interest bonds pay by maturity, while the discount is the interest at which they are sold.
