Packers' Favre Sprains Left Foot
Nov. 13, 2000
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) _ Brett Favre left Sunday's game between the Packers and Buccaneers with a sprained left foot that could sideline him for a week or more.
Favre, who has made 135 successive starts, an NFL high for quarterbacks, was hurt midway through the third quarter when sacked by Warren Sapp. Favre limped off the field, carrying his left shoe, and was later taken to the locker room on a cart with his foot wrapped in ice.
Green Bay kicked a 42-yard field goal on the next play and trailed 14-6 when Matt Hasselbeck replaced Favre on the Packers' next possession. Favre completed 14 of 25 passes for 117 yards and no interceptions.
Coach Mike Sherman said Favre probably would miss next week's home game with Indianapolis, and perhaps another game, as well.
