IN THE NEWS: NEW MEXICO SUES ONLINE COMPANIES OVER GAMING APPS FOR KIDS

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — New Mexico is taking Google, Twitter and other high-tech companies to court. The state is suing the companies because they develop and market mobile gaming apps for children — saying the apps violate state and federal laws on privacy. The Albuquerque government says the apps collect personal information that could put the privacy of kids and their parents at risk. New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas says he's worried the apps can track people with such precision they can tell where a child lives, plays and goes to school. The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act adopted by Congress requires websites and online services to disclose what data they collect from kids — and how they use it.

IN THE NEWS: TESLA - NOTIFICATIONS

DETROIT (AP) — Tesla keeps running into issues with its customers and investors. This time, it centers on letting customers know details about deliveries of their Model 3 mass-market electric car. A Model 3 buyer has sent a tweet to CEO Elon Musk saying he couldn't get a vehicle identification number from a sales adviser — even though he's due to take delivery on his Model 3 on Monday. The customer says the lack of a VIN is holding up paperwork on his car loan. Musk tweeted back to say customers "may experience longer response times" because of the increased number of vehicle deliveries in North America. He says resolving the issue is a top priority for his company.

ON THE WEB: NEW ORLEANS SUBURB PULLS BACK NIKE BOYCOTT

CYBERSPACE (AP) — The mayor of the New Orleans suburb of Kenner, Louisiana, is walking back a citywide ban on buying Nike products. Ben Zahn says he rescinded the order on the advice of the city attorney. Zahn had issued a memo banning purchases of Nike gear for use at city recreation facilities — after the company put quarterback Colin Kaepernick in an ad campaign. Zahn now says his memo "divided" Kenner and put it in "a false and unflattering light on the national stage." Zahn's order drew strong criticism both inside and outside the city.

IN STORES: APPLE UNVEILS THREE NEW iPHONES

CUPERTINO, Calif. (AP) — Apple is trying to increase its revenue — even as demand for its smartphones has begun to wane. The company is rolling out three new versions of its iPhones — including its biggest and most expensive model yet. CEO Tim Cook showed off the iPhone XS Max — which has a bigger screen than the iPhone X, released last year. It also has a bigger price tag: $1,100 — $100 more than the X. Apple also showed off a cheaper iPhone, called the iPhone XR.
