BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) _ Chris Cron drove in six runs and Kerry Valrie had five hits Saturday as the Chicago White Sox routed the Pittsburgh Pirates 16-8 in replacement baseball.

Cron, who entered the game 1-for-32, had a two-run double in the first inning, a two-run homer in the third and a two-run double in the fifth as the White Sox built a 13-0 lead after five innings.

Valrie went 5-for-6 and raised his spring average to .531 (26-for-49). He also had three RBIs.

Charles Poe hit a three-run homer for Chicago while Henry Manning and Fernando Ramsey had solo homers.

Jason Pierson pitched five shutout innings for the win, allowing three hits and striking out six.

Troy Evers took the loss as he was tagged for six runs and seven hits and six runs in three innings. Chicago had 18 hits
