FALLS CHURCH, Va. (AP) — A northern Virginia police officer has been suspended after his arrest on child pornography charges.

Falls Church officials say 29-year-old Robert MacSeain of Fairfax has had his police authority revoked while an internal investigation is underway.

Virginia State Police say MacSeain is facing 10 counts of distributing child pornography in Rockingham County.

State Police say they worked the case in conjunction with the FBI as part of an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

MacSeain was hired as a dispatcher for Falls Church Police in 2011. He became a sworn officer in January 2017.

It was unclear from online court records whether MacSeain had an attorney.
