INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) _ Whilly beat stablemate Perfect Moon by 1 1/4 lengths Saturday to win the $63,325 Bien Bien Stakes at Hollywood Park.

Ridden by Felipe Martinez, Whilly stalked the pace early and rallied past Perfect Moon in the middle of the stretch for the victory, covering a mile on the turf in 1:36 1/5.

It was the first Hollywood Park stakes win for the 40-year-old Martinez and the first American victory for the Irish-bred colt trained by Doug O'Neill. Whilly began racing in Italy before coming to the United States last summer.

The colt has won five times in 10 lifetime starts. He earned $39,325 Saturday, boosting his career earnings to $138,002.

Whilly carried 113 pounds and paid $8.60, $3.60 and $3. Perfect Moon returned $3.80 and $2.80. We All Love Aleyna paid $3 to show in the race for 3-year-olds.
