ANNISTON, Ala. (AP) _ A Boy Scout fell 100 feet to his death from a rocky ledge while his father watched, authorities said.

Sean Caldwell, 14, was killed in the fall Saturday during a troop rock climbing outing on Mount Cheaha in northeast Alabama. The troop was from Fayetteville, Ga.

The teen-ager was on a ledge waiting his turn to rappel down the rock face when he fell, according to the Cleburne County Sheriff's Department.

Mount Cheaha, about 25 miles south of Anniston, is the highest elevation in Alabama at 2,407 feet.
