Woman Who Faints at the Word 'Sex' Says She Was Violated

CINCINNATI (AP) _ A woman says she was sexually assaulted by a man who took advantage of her tendency to faint when she hears the word ''sex.''
The woman alleged William Gray, 42, learned of her condition, uttered the word and molested her while she was unconscious April 3 in the lobby of her apartment building.
Gray pleaded innocent by reason of insanity to felonious sexual penetration. He was jailed on $5,000 bail.
The woman passed out twice during a court hearing when the word ''sex'' was used, according to Gray's lawyer, Raul Tellez.
Dr. Marcia Kaplan, a psychiatrist at the University of Cincinnati, said a psychological condition known as conversion hysteria can cause reactions such as paralysis, loss of voice, seizures or fainting in reponse to a word.
