Marana man gets 9-year prison term for road-rage shooting
Jul. 31, 2018
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — A man has been sentenced to nine years in prison for a fatal road-rage shooting in Marana last year.
Pima County prosecutors say Marcus Dickson was found guilty of manslaughter and aggravating circumstances last month.
He originally was facing a second-degree murder charge.
Dickson was accused of shooting Martin Padilla in a shopping center parking lot in June 2017.
Documents obtained by Tucson TV station KOLD show Dickson had been behind Padilla's car for two intersections before the shooting.
The two men scuffled after Padilla's car reportedly was slow in turning a corner and then going into the parking lot.
Padilla's son was a witness and told Marana police that Dickson started a fist fight before pulling out a gun and firing two shots.
