ERIQ LASALLE EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES FOR FELLOW "ER" ACTRESS VANESSA MARQUEZ

UNDATED (AP) — Eriq La Salle is mourning the loss of "ER" actress Vanessa Marquez. La Salle tweets they "tragically lost a member of our ER family" and "may she rest in eternal peace." The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department says Marquez died at a hospital Friday at the age of 49. Officers responded when she had a seizure at her apartment and she was treated by paramedics. A sheriff's spokesman says while officers were trying to talk her into getting additional help, she pointed what turned out to be a BB gun at them. She was fatally shot.

JUDE LAW AND EDDIE REDMAYNE SURPRISE "HARRY POTTER" FANS ON BACK TO HOGWARTS DAY

LONDON (AP) — "Harry Potter" fans hoping to see the Hogwarts Express on track 9-and-three-quarters at Kings Cross station in London on Saturday were surprised when the stars of the new "Harry Potter" prequel movie showed up too. Jude Law and Eddie Redmayne appeared at the station to promote the film "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald," out in November. Redmayne says he wishes he could ride the Hogwarts Express because the journey looks like such fun. Law says he wishes he could ride so he could buy chocolate frogs. September 1 is considered Back To Hogwarts Day, when the students would return to the wizarding school.

AUDITIONS FOR "AMERICAN IDOL" THIS MONTH IN SHREVEPORT

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — If singing is your thing, prepare for the spotlight. ABC's "American Idol" will host open call auditions Sept. 9 at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium. The Times of Shreveport reports aspiring singers may submit audition videos online at www.abc.go.com/shows/american-idol/auditions . Chart-topping singers to come from the Emmy-winning reality TV series include Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Chris Daughtry and Fantasia.
