BARRINGTON, R.I. (AP) — A Rhode Island man who allegedly set up a video camera in the women's locker room at a Massachusetts gym is now facing video voyeurism charges in his home state.
Authorities say 55-year-old Mark McVay of Bristol secretly videotaped a teenage girl at a Barrington church in January by holding his smartphone under a table.
Bail was set at $10,000 on the video voyeurism charge Wednesday, but McVay was held without bail for an alleged probation violation.
The video was discovered during the investigation into a video camera found in the women's locker room at Planet Fitness in Seekonk, Massachusetts.
McVay faces charges in that case with misdemeanor counts of photo, videotaping or electronic surveillance and of attempting to commit a crime. He has not been arraigned.
