Dec. 09, 2013
GARDINER, Maine (AP) — Police are looking for a man in connection with the weekend shooting of his girlfriend in Gardiner.
Chief James Toman says police received a call just after 6 p.m. Saturday that someone had been shot. The woman was conscious when Gardiner police and rescue personnel arrived. Toman tells the Kennebec Journal (http://bit.ly/1ckqcZf ) that it's still too early to say how the gunshot wound was inflicted.
The woman's name was not made public but she is in her 30s. She is expected to survive.
Now police want to speak to the woman's boyfriend, who may either live at the home or be a frequent visitor.
Toman would say only that the man is from the Wiscasset area and police believe he witnessed the shooting, which involved a handgun.
