MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Heavy, wet snow is causing power outages in Vermont and prompted dozens of schools to be closed in southern part of the state.
Green Mountain Power said Friday that crews had restored power to more than 3,000 customers as a nor'easter continues to batter the East Coast.
Bennington and western Windham counties could get 10 to 16 inches of snow from the storm that is packing heavy rain, intermittent snow and strong winds across the entire eastern seaboard, from New England all the way down to northern Georgia.
In Vermont, the school closures were mostly in southern counties. More than 800 homes were without power.
