REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. (AP) _ Former Clinton White House Press Secretary Joe Lockhart has left Oracle Corp. after only five months.
Lockhart's last day as a senior member of the software giant's management team was May 15.
Lockhart joined Oracle in November, a month after resigning from the Clinton administration. Oracle chairman Larry Ellison tapped Lockhart to offer advice on a range of issues _ from America's Cup sailing to charitable endeavors.
Lockhart denied a reported schism with the mercurial Ellison, instead saying he could not handle commuting to the company's Redwood Shores offices from the East Coast.
``I've had a great relationship with Larry Ellison,'' Lockhart told the San Francisco Chronicle on Thursday. ``I just wasn't able to convince him to move Oracle to Washington.''
