Kenya's Rugut Wins Half Marathon

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) _ Philip Rugut of Kenya won the San Blas International Half Marathon, with marathon star Khalid Khannouchi finishing third.
Tatyana Khmeleva of Russia captured the women's division.
Rugut was timed in 1 hour, 4 minutes, 19 seconds in a race that ended in the southern Puerto Rican town of Coamo on Sunday. He was third last year.
Another Kenyan, James Kwambay, was runner-up 1:04:56. Khannouchi, a Moroccan living in the United States, is a four-time winner of the event. He finished in 1:05.06.
Khmeleva covered the 13.1 miles in 1:18:28. She was followed by Puerto Rico's Maribel Burgos (1:20.54) and Russia's Ramilia Burangulova (1:21.33).
