WASHINGTON (AP) _ Elisa Aguilar scored 20 of her 26 points in the second half and Noelia Gomez added 21 points as No. 25 George Washington beat Rice 82-62 Monday night.

Petra Dubovcova scored 14 points for George Washington (7-3), which was ranked No. 13 early this month before losing American and Vanderbilt.

George Washington stretched a six-point halftime margin into a 17-point lead on Chasity Myers' basket with 13:02 remaining. Meanwhile, Rice (5-5) started the half by missing four of its first five shots and committing four turnovers.

The Owls made a late run and cut the lead to 71-62 on Suzanne Coy's layup with 2:10 remaining. But the Colonials held on to snap Rice's two-game winning streak.

Aguilar also had eight rebounds and eight steals for George Washington. Kirra Jordan led Rice with 20 points.

Dubovcova scored 10 points in the first half, including a layup with 4:08 left that gave the Colonials a 28-17 lead.

Charonda Wilson later capped a 6-0 run by Rice with a steal and layup, and the Colonials entered halftime with a 35-29 lead.
