HOLLAND, Pa. (AP) — Officials say no foul play is suspected in the death of an elderly woman found outside her home near Philadelphia.

Police in Northampton Township say the 88-year-old woman's body was found at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday outside near an open back door of her home in Holland.

Police chief Michael Clark says the woman wasn't wearing clothes and the shower was running inside, so she may have opened the door to let out steam and fell outside.

Clark says it isn't clear how long she had been there, but investigators believe she died of exposure during the frigid weather. The Bucks County coroner will determine an official cause of death.

The name of the woman wasn't immediately released pending notification of her relatives.
