CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) _ Citadel quarterback Stanley Myers scored on a 3-yard touchdown run with three minutes left in the half to help the Bulldogs beat the Virginia Military Institute 28-6 Saturday.

VMI (0-10, 0-7 Southern Conference) was unable to get its offense going in the second half as The Citadel (6-5, 4-4 SOC) defense held the Keydets to just 143 yards rushing in the game.

The Bulldogs added to their total in the second half as defensive lineman Adrian Luster was inserted into the backfield as a fullback and plunged one yard into the end zone for a touchdown giving the Citadel a 21-3 lead.

Derek Green led the way for the Bulldogs with 22 carries and 87 yards rushing. Myers finished the game 4-for-7 passing for 50 yards and rushed 12 times for 72 yards, including his first rushing touchdown of the season.

Jabarr Bean lead VMI's rushing attack with 14 carries for 58 yards. Al Lester, the starting quarterback, finished 6-for-15 passing for 65 yards.
