NEW YORK (AP) — Asking for cash from wedding guests is an etiquette no-no. But sites such as Honeyfund and Honeymoon Wishes can make it easier to ask for cash to pay for a honeymoon.
Here are some tips to get the most from a honeymoon registry:
— Explain what you'll use the money for, such as plane tickets or tours or museums.
— Add pictures of you and your future spouse and why you chose the honeymoon destination.
— Share a link to the registry on your Facebook page and other social media sites.
— Add a link to the honeymoon registry from your main wedding website.
— Let bridesmaids, groomsmen and other people in the wedding party know that you set up a registry so that they can spread the word among guests.
— Update the site periodically, thanking guests for their gifts or counting down the days until the big day.
