Man pleads not guilty in brutal slaying of father at home

DEDHAM, Mass. (AP) — A 25-year-old man has pleaded not guilty in the brutal killing of his father in the home in Dedham they shared.
The Norfolk district attorney says Alex Anderson was held without bail following his arraignment Tuesday in Dedham District Court.
Prosecutors allege Anderson entered the bedroom of his father_59-year-old Paul Anderson_sometime before 2 a.m. Tuesday.
They say Alex Anderson inflicted "multiple traumatic injuries" on his father using a knife, hammer and other instruments.
Paul Anderson was taken to the hospital where he died. An autopsy is scheduled.
No additional details were immediately disclosed. The judge granted the defense's request to impound the police report of the killing until Anderson's next court date on Nov. 28.
Anderson's lawyer didn't immediately comment.
