FOUNTAIN, Colo. (AP) _ Kevin Harvick of Bakersfield, Calif., kept his Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the lead for 166 of the 200 laps to win Sunday's NASCAR Winston West Series stock car race at Pikes Peak International Raceway.

Harvick averaged 95.453 mph over the one mile oval to win by 6.817 seconds over runnerup Austin Cameron of El Cajon, Calif., also driving a Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

At the finish, Harvick and Cameron were the only ones left on the lead lap.

``I think it was just a complete day. My guys didn't screw up and I didn't screw up,'' Harvick said. He led the first four laps, then laps 10-81 and took the lead for good on lap 109.

Nipper Alsup of Moorsville, N.C., also in a Chevrolet Monte Carlo, finished third.

With the win, Harvick took a six-point lead over Sean Woodside in the season points race. Woodside of Saugus, Calif., who drove Pontiac Grand Prix, finished fourth.
