WEST COVINA, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles County authorities say a 51-year-old man found dead in a car was intellectually disabled and may have been accidentally left in the vehicle.
The Los Angeles Times says Timothy Cortinas was unresponsive when a fire department crew pulled him from the car Friday night in West Covina. He died at the scene.
Sheriff's investigators say Cortinas may have been accidentally left inside the car for an unknown length of time. Officials say the car's driver is cooperating with authorities.
The cause of death is under investigation.
