SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — Police say an 89-year-old Maryland man was shot and killed by his son, who then turned the gun on himself.
Montgomery County Police say they received a report of two people shot in a park-and-ride lot Saturday afternoon on Norbeck Road in Silver Spring.
Police arrived and found two men in the front seats of a Toyota Prius.
Police say 89-year-old Thomas Willey, who lived in the nearby Leisure World apartments, was dead from a gunshot wound in the passenger seat.
His son, 67-year-old Thomas "Greg" Willey of Silver Spring, was alive but in critical condition in the driver seat.
Police say the son, who left a note in the car, was being treated Sunday at a hospital.
