LIHUE, Hawaii (AP) — A group of people is pushing to keep the Lihue Post Office open.
The Garden Island reports (http://bit.ly/2liav26) the United States Postal Service has proposed consolidating two offices to improve access and parking.
Officials with the Historic Hawaii Foundation say they will go door to door in the community to spread awareness of the Save Our Post Office campaign.
Foundation board member and Lihue Business Association president Pat Griffin says the post office is an extremely important historic building in the area.
