Ford Air Travel Policy Makes Flying Tough for Trotman
Oct. 07, 1993
DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) _ Ford Motor Co. has a highflying dilemma over newly named Chairman and President Alexander Trotman.
Company policy prohibits the chairman and the president from flying on the same airplane for security reasons.
But an exception will probably have to be made for Trotman, the first person in Ford's 90-year history to hold both titles. In the next few weeks, the 60-year-old executive is due in Japan for the Toyko Auto Show and in Europe for high-level executive meetings.
Trotman takes over from Chairman Harold Poling, who is retiring, on Nov. 1.
