LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) _ The Chicago Bears on Friday signed tight end Chris Gedney and wide receiver Fabien Bownes.

Gedney, a three-year team veteran, received a one-year pact. He has been plagued by injuries since he was a third-round draft pick in 1993.
