BOSTON (AP) _ Anders Eriksson had a goal and an assist and Chris Osgood made 33 saves as the Detroit Red Wings beat Boston 4-2 on Monday night to extend their winning streak against the Bruins to nine games.
Joe Kocur, Darren McCarty and Nicklas Lindstrom also scored for the Red Wings, who last lost to Boston on Dec. 31, 1991. Dmitri Khrisitch and Jason Allsion scored for the Bruins, 0-3-1 in their last four games.
Kocur scored the only goal in a tight-checking first period, collecting Eriksson's rebound in front and slipping a short wrist shot between goalie Byron Dafoe's pads at 13:03.
Just 20 seconds into a second-period power play, McCarty made it 2-0, banging in his own rebound from the top of the crease. Khristch nade it 2-1 with a power-play goal at 9:22.
Eriksson restored Detroit's two-goal lead just over six minutes later, beating Dafoe with a slap shot from the right circle. Allison countered for Boston at 2:32 of the third period, and Lindstrom completed the scoring with an empty-net goal with 49 seconds remaining.
Earlier Monday, Boston left wing Ted Donato was suspended for three games without pay and fined $1,000 by the NHL for a high-sticking infraction on New York Islanders defenseman Rich Pilon on Saturday night.
