PHOENIX (AP) — A man is in custody in connection with the fatal shooting of a man at a charity toy drive in Phoenix.

Phoenix police say 26-year-old Miguel Flores is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder.

He's accused in the death of 27-year-old Andrew Alvarado, who police say was shot multiple times in a parking lot at Desert West Park.

Police say a charity toy drive and car show was going on when shots broke out at about 4:40 p.m. Sunday.

They say Alvarado was pronounced dead at a Phoenix hospital and Flores was arrested at his home.

Witnesses told police after the shooting occurred that they recognized Flores at the scene and say he was known to Alvarado.

The motive for the shooting isn't immediately clear.
