BRIGHTON, Mich. (AP) _ A minivan with a 10-month-old baby girl inside was stolen and abandoned outside a restaurant about 25 miles away, police said Wednesday.

The child was in the back seat of a Chrysler minivan taken from outside Marv's Meats and Bakery in Brighton about 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the girl's mother had run into the store and when she came out, the van was gone.

About two hours later, the owner at Joe's Country Restaurant in Pontiac called police after his wife heard a baby crying in a car in the parking lot. Pontiac is about 25 miles northeast of Brighton.

The baby appeared fine and the mother was on her way to pick her up.

Police and tracking dogs were looking for two men seen leaving the restaurant parking lot.
