TRICHUR, India (AP) _ Seventh-seeded Jean Fleurian of France upset No. 1 seed Garry Lemon of the United States 6-3, 6-4 Friday in the fourth and final leg of the $37,500 Indian Satellite Tennis Tournament.
Another Frenchman, Gregoire Rafaitin, the fifth seed, lost to unseeded Alex Stephen of West Germany 6-1, 6-7, 6-4.
In a third contest, Heiner Moraing of West Germany ousted India's Enrico Piperno 6-3, 6-3. Earlier, Moraing's elder brother, Peter Moraing, also advanced to the next round.
In the doubles event, Switzerland's Stefan Meddam and Indian S. Vasu Devan entered the semifinals, edging Canadians Chris Pridham and Simon Bartram 8-6, 6-4.
The top eight finishers of the singles and doubles events in the four legs at Bombay, Calcutta, Bangalore and Trichur qualify for the Masters Tournament scheduled to begin Feb. 4 in the western Indian city of Poona.
