NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Three of six inmates who escaped from a maximum-security prison by handcuffing their guards to chairs and stashing them in a laundry room have been recaptured.
Michael Wayne Perry, 26, who is awaiting trial on first-degree murder charges, and William Kirk Riley, 33, serving a life sentence for murder, were captured around 11 p.m. CST Sunday at the edge of a residential area about three miles from the prison, state Correction Department spokesman Pam Hobbins said.
Billy Jackson Coffelt, 44, sentenced to life for being a habitual criminal, was found early Monday about two miles from the facility, Ms. Hobbins said.
