ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) _ Marlon Jemerson and Eric Yeadon led a second half comeback helping Florida Atlantic overcome a 13-point deficit and defeat Winthrop 80-72 Saturday.

After battling to a 37-37 halftime tie, Winthrop (3-9) completed a 58-45 lead when David McMahan scored on a layup. The Owls (5-6) began their comeback with a basket by Kelly Horford. Over the next seven minutes, Florida Atlantic outscored the Eagles 22-7.

Winthrop's Todd Lassiter tied the score with two free throws. But the Owls took the lead at 68-67 on a free throw by Yeadon.

With 34 seconds remaining, Yeadon made two free throws to give Florida Atlantic its biggest lead at 78-69.

Craig Buchanan had 18 points for Florida Atlantic, while Jemerson scored 16 and Rob Ritter added 11. The Owls led in rebounds, 41-26.

McMahan scored 23 points for Winthrop, while Lassiter scored a career high 16 and Melvin Branham added 10.
