Cobbs, Morris Lead Kansas Relays

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) _ Andy Morris of Kansas led the decathlon and Lindsey Cobbs of Oklahoma led the heptathlon after the opening day of competition of the Kansas Relays on Wednesday.
Morris had the day's best times in the 100 meters at 11.16 seconds and the 400 at 48.17 to finish the first five events with 3,798 points, ahead of Justin Conkling, competing unattached, with 3,684 points and Pat Pyle, of Garden City Community College, with 3,661.
Cobbs took the 100 hurdles in 14.94 and was second in the 200, high jump and shot put for 2,747 points after four events.
Ashley Pyle of Kansas was second with 2,576 points and Holly Wilder of Western Kentucky was third with 2,572. Pyle had the best mark in the shot put and Wilder led the high jump.
