Clavet Advances at Citrix

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (AP) _ Spain's Francisco Clavet beat Australia's Mark Woodforde 6-2, 6-4 on Monday to advance to the second round of the Citrix Championships.
In the matchup of left-handers that opened play on stadium court, the eighth-seeded Clavet beat Woodforde, at 34 the oldest player in the field, for the first time in six career meetings.
In another first-round match, Paul Goldstein beat Romania's Andrei Pavel 6-3, 6-4.
Michael Chang, the No. 7 seed who received a wild-card berth in the tournament, faces Andrew Ilie in the featured night match. Ilie won the tournament as a qualifier in 1998.
Andy Roddick, the second-ranked junior player in the world, will face Italy's Laurence Tieleman in another night match.
Roddick, 17, of Boca Raton, became the first American in 41 years to win the boys singles title in the Australian Open.
