Sotomayor's Drug Hearing Reset
May. 30, 2000
MONTE CARLO, Monaco (AP) _ Track's governing body delayed the drug hearing of high jump record-holder Javier Sotomayor until June 14.
The Cuban is appealing an International Amateur Athletic Federation suspension imposed after he tested positive for cocaine at last summer's Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The IAAF panel originally met April 9 and set June 2 as the new date to question witnesses further. That date, however, clashed with the weekend of the Monaco Grand Prix auto race.
The arbitration hearing is expected to last one day and will examine Sotomayor's contention that his urine samples manipulated.
