Feb. 18, 1996
MURAU, Austria (AP) _ Austrian teen-ager Mario Stecher got his second World Cup win in a Nordic combined event Sunday.
Stecher, 18, was second behind Japan's Koji Takazawa going into the cross country run after Sunday's jumps. But he made up the difference and finished 21.9 seconds ahead of Finland's Jari Mantila in the overall standings.
Takazawa finished third, 46.9 seconds behind Stecher.
Stecher's previous World Cup win came in Oslo in 1994.
Sunday's race took place in clear conditions after strong winds and snow forced organizers to scrap ski jumping Saturday.
