JUST LOOKING:. Jose Rijo's agent is scheduled to meet Thursday with Cincinnati Reds general manager Jim Bowden to discuss a long-term contract.

Rijo, the ace of the starting rotation, is entering the final year of a three-year, $9 million contract. He would like to finish his career in Cincinnati, but said agent Tom Reich wasn't close to an agreement Wednesday.

Asked why Bowden and Reich are meeting Thursday, Rijo said, ''I just want to see what they have to offer.''

Rijo said his main concern about the Reds is whether they'll be willing to spend the money to remain a contender in the next few years.
