Aug. 05, 1998
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) _ The New York Yankees said designated hitter Chili Davis, who is on a rehabilitation assignment in the minors, was removed from a game Tuesday night due to ``normal stretching of scar tissue.''
The Yankees said Davis, who has been sidelined since early April and is recovering from reconstructive surgery on his right ankle, was removed from a game at Double-A Norwich in his seventh game on the rehab stint.
Davis had been 4-for-21 in six games with the Navigators.
