SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) _ Alfred Forbes scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Wofford to an 84-50 win over Montreat Thursday night.
The Terriers (1-2) were up 35-22 at the break and opened the second half with a 13-3 spurt to pull away.
Wofford lost the rebound battle 46-40, but the Terriers tallied 15 steals and Montreat (1-2) turned the ball over 15 more times.
The Terriers also shot better than the visitors, 48 percent to 31 percent for the game, and took 13 more shots from the field.
Neither team could hit 3-pointers, with Montreat making only two of 14 and Wofford hitting eight of 28.
Forbes, who played only 23 minutes, made 6-of-13 shots from the field and 6-of-8 free throws.
Ian Chadwick, Donald Davis and Natter Miller contributed 9 points apiece, and Reggie DeGray had five assists.
Montreat had balanced scoring with 10 points each coming from Jason Sherrill, Jeremy Toomey and Brandon Dockery. Sherrill had a team-high eight rebounds.
