PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ Olden Polynice was waived Monday by the Philadelphia 76ers just two weeks after being signed.

The 7-foot, 250-pound center averaged 1 point, 3.3 rebounds and 6.8 minutes in four preseason games with the 76ers. He was attempting a comeback after sitting out the entire 2001-02 season.

Polynice also played for Seattle, Los Angeles, Detroit, Sacramento and Utah during his 14-year NBA career, last averaging 5.3 points and 4.7 rebounds in 81 games with Utah in 2000-01.

The 76ers will open their season Tuesday night at Orlando with three centers, Todd MacCulloch, Efthimios Rentzias, Samuel Dalembert, on the roster.
