WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — A Worcester woman didn't get far after attempting to rob a credit union in the city.

Police say the woman passed a note demanding cash to a teller on Friday at the Leominster (LEH'-min-stuhr) Credit Union.

But it turned out that a Worcester police sergeant was working a plainclothes detail inside the bank. Police say the officer stepped in and arrested 46-year-old Colleen Montalvo as she tried to flee.

Montalvo was charged with unarmed robbery. It was not immediately known if she had had an attorney.
