SEOUL, South Korea (AP) _ Juli Inkster and Australia's Karrie Webb shot 5-under-par 67s Thursday to share the first-round lead in the Samsung World Championship of Women's Golf.

Inkster had six birdies and one bogey on the 6,395-yard, par-72 Lakeside Country Club West Course, while Webb had two bogeys and seven birdies, including three in a row.

``I don't know how far I was hitting the driver, but I was on the fairway a lot,'' Inkster said after hitting every fairway but the 18th.

Webb chalked up her success to her play on the greens. ``I had a good feeling over the putter,'' she said.

Chris Johnson was one stroke back at 68, followed by fellow Kelly Robbins, who shot a 69.

Two-time defending champion Annika Sorenstam of Sweden was tied for fifth with countrywoman Helen Alfredsson at 70.

``I still feel confident,'' Sorenstam said. ``It's only Thursday. My goal is to be a consistent player.''

At 71 were Michelle McGann, South Korean Kim Mi-hyun and Britain's Alison Nicholas.

Nine of the 16 players in the field were under par in the only LPGA tournament held in South Korea.
