NORWALK, Conn. (AP) — A 21-year-old Connecticut man charged with killing a man in a drive-by shooting last summer has pleaded not guilty.

Jermaine Scott, of Norwalk, was charged with murder in March in connection with the July 2017 shooting of 26-year-old Johnny Lezeau.

The Norwalk Hour reports Scott's attorney declined comment after waiving Scott's right to a probable cause hearing and entering a not guilty plea on his behalf Monday.

The prosecution says Scott's arrest warrant remains sealed.

Lezeau was seriously wounded in a drive-by shooting last July. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital where he later died.

Scott remains jailed in lieu of $1 million bond.

Police have said they do not think the shooting was random.
