FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) _ Lionel Hayes threw three first-half touchdown passes, then the Frankfurt Galaxy held on for a 28-23 win against the Amsterdam Admirals in NFL Europe on Saturday.
Hayes threw 21- and 24-yard TD passes to Andy McCullough for 21 and 24 yards as the Galaxy jumped to a 21-0 lead, before the Admirals' comeback led by Spergon Wynn, who threw for three second-half scores for Amsterdam (4-4). It was just Frankfurt's second win in eight games.
Wynn connected with Chris Coleman for 14 yards just before the half and for 45 yards on the opening drive of the third quarter.
The Galaxy's Corey Walker ran back the ensuing kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown, but Wynn then hit tight end John Waerig for 10 yards to cut the Galaxy lead back to seven.
The Admirals got their final points when defensive tackle Winfield Garnett sacked Hayes in the end zone in the fourth quarter.
