SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic (AP) — Four people have died and another two were injured when a bus in the Dominican Republic veered off the road and crashed into a house in the country's eastern region.

Transportation Authority spokesman Roberto Lebron says the four people who died were standing outside the house. He said a young boy standing on the sidewalk as well as the bus driver were injured.

Authorities say they are investigating what caused the crash late Friday near the community of Higuey.
