SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. (AP) _ Val Wilder of Springfield, Mass., the top seed in the U.S. Tennis Association's men's 35-and-over Grass Court championships, moved into the round of 16 Tuesday with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Paul Hoffstein of Merion, Pa., at the Meadow Club.

Second seed Marty Wolf of Cincinnati eliminated Robert Kleinwaks of Glen Cove, N.Y., 6-3, 6-3. Andre Dupre of Westhampton, N.Y., seeded third, beat John Beckworth of Houston 6-0, 6-1.

Fourth seed Hans Carlson of Richardson, Texas, ousted Frank Colletti of Smithtown, N.Y., 6-0, 6-2.
