Garcia, Maleyeva Win at Polish Open

SOPOT, Poland (AP) _ Fifth-seed Gala Leon Garcia of Spain and Magdalena Maleyeva of Bulgaria won their first-round matches at the Polish Open women's tennis tournament Monday.
Garcia beat Anna Zarska of Poland 6-1, 6-0, and Maleyeva defeated Karolina Jagieniak of France 6-2, 6-3.
In other matches, Libuse Prusova, of the Czech Republic, beat top-seeded Sandra Nacuk 6-2, 6-3; Ludmila Cervanova of the Czech Republic beat seventh-seed Marion Maruska of Austria 5-7, 6-3, 7-6; and third-seed Daja Bedanova of the Czech Republic defeated compatriot Klara Koukalova 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.
